It provokes, enriches and stimulates European debate through the quality of its research, publications and conferences.

Established in Paris and Brussels, the Robert Schuman Foundation is an open and multinational network. Its main mission is to keep alive the spirit and inspiration of one of the "Fathers of Europe", Robert Schuman and promotes European values and ideals both within the Union's frontiers as well as beyond.

Expertise

A veritable laboratory of ideas, the Foundation produces numerous studies on European policies, which are a valuable source of information for anyone wanting to understand European issues and challenges. They are available on its website:  www.robert-schuman.eu

The weekly e-letter (subscribe), available in 6 languages (French, English, German, Spanish, Polish and Ukrainian), the leading European online media in terms of the number of recipients, is an irreplaceable source of information on European current affairs. In each newsletter, the Foundation publishes a study, the Schuman Paper, which looks in depth at a particular theme linked to current affairs, or an Interview with Europe, which brings the perspective of leading personalities on a topical issue.

The annual study, Schuman Report on Europe the State of the Union sheds light on the major issues facing Europe through the eyes of the most eminent figures and experts. It is accompanied by an appendix of commented statistical data. and exclusive maps.

The European Elections Monitor, a unique electronic publication, provides a real-time analysis of the issues and results of each election in the EU Member States.

The Foundation also publishes the Permanent Atlas of the European Union, which is constantly updated on the internet and presents the institutions of the Union, its Member States, the euro area and its overseas territories.

Debate

The Foundation's independence means that it can address all topical issues in an in-depth and objective manner. Its studies and analyses provide European decision-makers with information, arguments and food for thought that are appreciated for their usefulness and scientific quality.

Through its publications, the Foundation gives a European dimension to the main issues of public interest.

The Foundation organises and participates in numerous European and international meetings and conferences  and develops research programmes in cooperation with university centres and think-tanks. It has developed the Schuman Network  which aims to promote debate and reflection on European issues because, more than ever, the international situation and the issues at stake within the European Union call for the contribution of think-tanks, which are the real "idea powerhouses" of our continent. The Foundation's presence in Brussels and its network of partners in all the Member States allow it to be present in the main places and forums of discussion to exchange and debate about the future of Europe.

Commitment

The Foundation is multiplying its initiatives on the ground to advance the European democratic model and support those who promote it. Training seminars are organised for young decision-makers.

The Foundation is managed by a Board and a Board of Directors which determine the strategic priorities, and by a Scientific Committee which decides on the direction of the work and assesses it.

The Foundation accepts donations and bequests and ensures that they are tax-exempt. (Support us)
