Geostrategic context and maritime issues in 2021

Admiral (2S) Bernard ROGEL, Private Chief of Staff to the President of the Republic 2016-2020, Chief of Staff of the Navy 2011-2016, was the guest speaker at a special videoconference organised by the Foundation in partnership with the "Fondation de la Mer". He spoke about maritime issues and the geostrategic context in 2021.

The discussions were moderated by Jean-Dominique Giuliani, Chairman of the Robert Schuman Foundation.

Germany turns the page on Merkel

The Foundation organised a videoconference on Germany and its political future following the departure of Chancellor Angela Merkel - in office since 2005 - and the general elections to be held on 26 September 2021.

Defending the rule of law and fundamental freedoms

What message for Europe today ?

Following the publication of the 5th edition of the Permanent Atlas of the European Union, the Foundation organised, in partnership with the Open Diplomacy Institute, an online debate to address the question of the European message in a new political and societal context in the Union and on the international scene.

Research, innovation and education as key drivers for recovery

On Monday 28 June, the Foundation organised a videoconference with Mariya GABRIEL, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth. The exchanges were moderated by Jean-Dominique GIULIANI.

Who will be the next German Chancellor and with which government coalition ?

Following the German federal elections in 2021, Germany will have anew Chancellor - after 16 years of Angela Merkel in the Chancellery - and a new government coalition. The Foundation has organised a virtual round table on these elections, the issues at stake and the impact of their possible outcome for Europe.

Towards a more united Europe

As part of the preparations for the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the Conference on the Future of Europe, the Romanian European Institute organised, on the initiative of the Robert Schuman Foundation, a videoconference on the question of how the Member States can move forward together in terms of foreign policy, strategic priorities and economic policy.

The aim of this event is to create a European forum for discussion to contribute collectively to the definition of a European vision and to feed into the political debates that will take place during the French Presidency of the Council and the Conference on the Future of Europe.
