<div>French voters will elect a new National Assembly after it was dissolved by President Emmanuel Macron in reaction to the crushing victory of the far-right National Rally (RN) in the European elections. After the first round on June 30, the RN is in a position to win an absolute majority, but the left-wing coalition New Popular Front and Macron&rsquo;s Together coalition have called to block it in the second round.</div>
<div><br>Will the snap election bring the political &ldquo;clarification&rdquo; that Macron said he expected from the vote? Will the far-right be in a position to form a government, or will the radical left play a major role? What will be the impact for the EU of these political developments in France? Will the outcome call into question France&rsquo;s commitments to NATO and Ukraine</div>
